Croatia’s very own homegrown techno superstar, Zagreb-born petar dundovboasts a production career that spans almost twenty years and takes in multiple pseudonyms. Around the turn of the millenium he decided to ease off on the aliases and began releasing his music under his own birth name, and since then he has never looked back. His longstanding relationship with Belgium’s legendary man’s-music techno imprint Music Man has proved particularly fruitful, furnishing the dancefloor with numerous 12″s – including his breakthrough single, the intricate and ever-changing mind-bender ‘Oasis’ – as well as 2008’s debut artist album ‘Escapements’.
Expanding the emotional possibilities of dancefloor techno is something thatpetar dundov takes extremely seriously, with his stated musical quest being “an attempt to revive those emotions where we all resonate as one”. This is a guiding principle that he takes to the frontline of clubland, via an all-conquering live set displaying the delights of his impressive back catalogue, and a parallel DJ career where choice selections from the techno cannon also become his tools for moving the dancefloor. This two-pronged attack has already enabled him to tick off many of the world’s premier techno destinations, from clubs like Berlin’s inimitable Berghain and Japan’s Womb to festivals including Belgium’s I Love Techno and Serbia’s Exit.
Fresh from his latest single for Music Man ‘Tenth Plateau’, petar has recently completed a killer string of remixes that secure his place in the melodic techno pantheon, encompassing top-draw artists – Extrawelt, Dominik Eulberg and Ripperton – and distinguished labels – Cocoon, Trouw and Traum – alike, the most recent example being a rework of Mitrinique’s ‘Green Mountains’ for Sound Avenue. petar‘s attentions are currently diverted towards his eagerly-anticipated new artist album, slated for release at the start of 2012, and is now taking bookings for the accompanying album tour.
